Thank You Means I Love You

In marriage, thank you may mean a lot at times than the mere word of I love; because to truly love the person is to appreciate the person’s worth. Expressing one’s gratitude to our partner is expressing our love. Saying, “thank you for being you”, is saying I love you.

How many times do we hear these words, “thank you”, from our partner in life? Feels really good to hear these words, right!

And how many times are we generous to say, “thank you”?

Often we may hear the words, “I love you,’ or perhaps say the words, “I love you,” to our partner just to let the other know that I (or our partner) are still living in the same roof. Just for the sake of formality—like saying, “Good night, honey!”

Then the other would reply with a sleepy tone, “Good night too, honey…” then the “I love you” part.

But of course saying “I Love You” sincerely is the best! You know what I mean when I compared “Thank you” with “I Love you”.

In the ordinary days of marriage, often the “thank you” comes to be more spontaneous and sincere, than the casual “I Love You” words.

But for those marriages living with the real “I love You”, praise God for it!
