  1. First hearing this amazing impression of the current Atlanta Symphony Chamber Chorus under Norman MacKenzie, gave me such a sparkling crispness of “Ubi Caritas” from his first Touring performance of Durufle`…I was considering the possibility of another balanced CD recording with 6 pieces of the newer version of Atlanta Symphonty Chorus with older versions and the newest Choral offerings of The Morman Tabernacle Choir.

After several days of listening to the whole recording, I became thankful to Norman and Craig Jessop for their Joint Adventure in combining this first recording of Atlanta Choral Offerings to include the Older Vintage of Shaw masterworks, such as, Felix Mendelssohn, Franz Schubert and Johannes Brahms’ “How Lovely are thy Dwellings!”

Even with only three Morman Tabernacle Gifts of “Take TIme To Be Holy, Abide With Me” and the traditional Hymn, “Come Thou Fount of Every Blessing” there seems to be reasonable balance to the new with the old and the more recent history of Choral growth alongside the vintage Robert Shaw Masterpieces… they include Faure`Requiem and Berlioz Requiem,++ Mendelssohn’s Lift Thine Eyes and He watching over Israel!!

Most Sincerely from Retired Shaw Singer and avid admirer, Fred W Hood

  2. This CD was playing in the background when I went in to the Gift Shop to browse before an Atlanta Symphony Orchestra concert last spring when they were performing Carmina Burana. I knew almost every piece on the CD and was singing along with the CD in the Gift Shop. I didn’t want to leave the Gift Shop to go hear the Symphony! I wanted to stay and listen to the CD.

The next time I went to hear the Symphony in the fall, this time for a performance of the Brahms’ Requiem, this same CD was playing in the Gift Shop again. The manager of the Gift Shop really knew what he was doing! This time I had to actually break down and buy the CD.

I wasn’t the only one interested in the CD. Many different people asked the manager of the Gift Shop which CD was playing. He took them all back and showed them the CD. He made LOTS of sales!!
