Obedience Is the Key to Blessings

A Reflection for the Day from the Scripture:

If they obey and serve him, they will spend the rest of their days in prosperity and their years in contentment

Job 36:11

I have two reason for this; this is my reflection on the passage:

  1. First, if we obey the Lord—blessings would surely come to us.

This is my act of faith. So, I won’t deal much on this since it is a matter of conviction. Though, rain and sunshine are both given to the righteous and sinners, I still believe that blessings like serenity and peace of mind are given to those who obey the Lord.

  • Second, it is for me but practical that if we obey the Lord and follow the right path, then surely blessings will come. Following the right path is not walking along the path of vices like gambling, covetousness, and the rest.

    These vices are commonly the reasons why wealth are drained away from us. If we walk the right path, then we live without the vices—that if we really walk the right path and obey the Lord. Then obviously, we store up the blessings for us instead of throwing them away. Extravagance is also a bad habit (and that I believe).
